"Happy Day" is a swinging gospel number that delivers a powerful message of redemption. It might be considered infectious, but Isaac from marketing says I should probably avoid using words like that. Apparently, people don't care for song infections 🤷♂️.
The idea for "Happy Day" came from an old hymn I don't like called "Oh Happy Day That Fixed My Choice." I love the message of the hymn, though, so set out to write my own song that shares the message in a way that gets you grooving... sans infection.
Lyrics:
Oh, what a happy day it was
The day I met my Lord and God
My heart ignited by His fire
I'll shout about it far and wide!
Happy day, Oh happy day
Jesus washed my past away!
Now I've found I'm heaven bound
Every day's a hap- happy day
It's finished, He cried from the cross
He found me there among the lost
He brought me out of darkness deep
And into light so heavenly
Happy day, Oh happy day
Jesus washed my past away!
Now I've found I'm heaven bound
Every day's a hap- happy day
High heaven hear these words I sing
Jesus is my Lord and King
More of Him and less of me
Will bring about the best of me
Happy day, Oh happy day
Jesus washed my past away!
Now I've found I'm heaven bound
Every day's a hap- happy
Happy day, Oh happy day
Jesus washed my past away!
Now I've found I'm heaven bound
Every day's a hap- happy day
Happy Day
In the unlikely event your Happy Day gets soiled, put it in a pillow case and stuff it in the nearest large gopher hole. The gopher will take it and wash it thoroughly in a lake in northern Canada and deliver it clean, pressed and folded to your door. Remember to tip the gopher, otherwise he'll take up residence in your home and hog the TV.
In the event your Happy Day gets heavily soiled, use soap.
