Glory is a rockin' tune that is easy to sing along with and has a simple message:

Dedicate each breath to God's glory.

I wrote Glory shortly after I began working for the church.

The landscape of Christian music at the time was full of a lot of verbiage I couldn't relate to on a personal level. Dissatisfied with the idea of leading God's people with songs that sounded better suited to singing to a boyfriend/girlfriend, I began reworking old words from old  hymns, or writing my own songs in earnest.

Glory isn't complicated. It isn't even very deep. But it is honest, and resonates with my heart.

FUN FACT:

I wrote this particular arrangement and shared it with some musician and producer friends of mine. Initially it had a crappy MIDI guitar because I can't play guitar.

One of those friends, Jeremy Blaska, is a phenomenal guitar player (and producer) and he was not only very encouraging, but he also laid down the guitar tracks you'll hear on the recording!

Lyrics:

Lord, be with me out there on the front lines

Lord, please be inside me so Your light shines

Hide Your Word inside me so my witness is true

Guide my every step so that it leads to You

For Your

Glory! Glory!

Worthy is the Lord Almighty

Glory! Glory!

Worthy is the Lord Almighty of glory

Remind me that the greatest gift that I can bring

So much more than any song that I can sing

Is to live a life that leads the lost to You to set them free

To dedicate each breath to Your glory

For Your

Glory! Glory!

Worthy is the Lord Almighty

Glory! Glory!

Worthy is the Lord Almighty of glory

Care instructions

  • Beat the product hard against a rock

  • Throw some water at it

  • Beat it against the rock again, harder this time

  • Lay it out in the sun until it gets bleached and stiff

  • Beat it against the rock once more, maybe frown angrily but if someone asks why you're frowning tell them you're "just concentrating"

  • Apologize to the rock for letting it see that side of you, maybe buy it a snack
